black felt, four panel crown. Rounded peak and rear brim. Leather edging. Brass oak leaf crown mount and spike. Brass Infantry side mounts supporting the brass chin chain. Brass shield helmet plate with central white metal "4". Leather sweatband. Crown dated with 1902 Inspection stamp.
