£1,400
An Art Deco blue zircon and diamond ring, the central round mixed cut zircon (measuring 12mm diameter), with three single cut diamonds to each shoulder, all set in white metal to a plain polished shank, stamped '18CT & PT', ring size M, weight 5.0gms
Central zircon: Fair order. Heavy abrasion to the facet edges and corners. Moderate amount of small chips to the girdle, corners and faces. Moderate scratching to the faces. No large cracks or breakages other then chipping stated. Zircon is bright and sparkly when viewed face up.
All diamonds are present. There is a large fracture to one of the diamonds on one shoulder, but all other stones are in tact, showing minor scratching and wear only.
There is some minor denting to the claws and gallery setting, particularly around the central zircon. There is some sign that the claws may have been re-tipped. Some thinning to a few of the pillars of the setting.
There are several signs indicating that the shank is later - there are slim seams where the shoulders meet the shank. There are what appears to be solder patches around the pillars under the shoulders. The shank itself is in good order, no signs of thinning, resizing or additional repair/alterations.
Depth of stone: 7.84mm
