EARLY ST IVES STUDIO POTTERY JUG - SLIPWARE. Possibly by Michael Cardew and circa 1920's/30's, the stoneware jug with a brown and black slipware glaze and scroll handle. Impressed seal mark for St Ives. 22.5cms high. *CR There appears to be a crack which runs in a line from the St Ives mark along the side of the jug and upwards to where it reaches the glaze, there is a line inside the jug which seems to mirror this and there are a couple of other visible lines inside, nibbles to the spout and a couple of small chips to the rim, glaze flaked away to scroll of handle.
