Overall in honest original condition of a rich colour, one or two small pieces of mother of pearl missing, notably from the central panel of the lid which has a silvered plaque inscribed J. Charlton, ivory banding around the edges of the interior, mother of pearl handled lids enclosing original silvering to the compartments, no key for lock, feet and base papering look original.
