Group mounted as worn - BWM & Victory Medal (Capt E P Readman), Defence & War Medals, 1937 Coronation Medal, 1953 Coronation Medal, and Efficiency Decoration GVI (GRI) dated 1940 and with Territorial Bar, plus 3x EiiR award bars. Major General Edgar Platt Readman (1893-1980) awarded the CBE, was educated at Sheffield Central School, volunteering for service in 1914 and transferring to the 13/Tank Corps in 1917, commissioned that year. Married 1919, transferred to the RAOC in 1923, leaving 2 years later. Working in the steel industry, specifically with a machine tool company, he was a Colonel in the TA in 1934 and Commanded 49th (West Riding) Ordnance Coy for many years. A Brigadier in 1940, his WW2 service was with the RAOC, with a special interest in Tank design. He retired from the TA in 1951. (7)
