A JAPANESE RED LACQUER HIBACHI, BY TANAKA KOYU, B.1939. With copper lined interior. Hibachi which translates to ‘fire bowl’, traditionally used to hold burning charcoal which warms the kettle when serving tea. Together with original 'tomobako' wooden storage box signed Tanaka Koyu, also known as Koen. Together with a cast iron kettle stand, teapot not included. 34cm diam. Box size 39 x 39 x 28cm.
