1736 King George II copper type I Halfpenny struck for use in Ireland (S 6605). Obverse: left-facing laureate bust with 'GEORGIUS · II · REX ·' around. Reverse: crowned cláirseach or Gaelic harp with 'HIBERNIA.' above and the date (1736) divided below. Weight: 8.14g. Diameter: 27.9mm. Grade: VF - Very Fine. Offered with an old dealer's envelope. These Halfpennies were minted to replace Irish tokens, then circulating in Dublin due to a lack of small denomination coinage.
