Austrian School; circa late 18th century, an oak-framed and glazed pastel on canvas shoulder-length portrait study of Archduchess Maria Elizabeth of Austria (1743-1808). Maria Elizabeth was the sister of Marie Antoinette, daughter of Empress Maria Theresa; the present lot seemingly based on the 1781 portrait by Johann Baptist von Lampi the Elder in the Imperial collection at the Hofburg, Vienna.
