An automaton figure of an elephant mounted on a wooden base, peering at the music on a stand through an enormous pair of spectacles, whilst appearing to turn the handle of a barrel organ with his trunk, and beat time on a drum by means of a foot pedal. A clockwork motor and a musical movement are contained in the ''barrel organ'' which is fitted with an on/off lever and has hole for a winding key. In the style of Decamps of Paris. 47cm high, 30cm long, 24cm wide.
