A 19th century Victorian circa. 1870's Avery style brass needle case etui in the form of a butterfly. The needle case having articulated beating wings with repousse markings and needle folders with intricately engraved decoration beneath and number cartouche with numbered corresponding to particular period needle patents. Marked for Hayes. Crossley & Co of London. In the manner of W. Avery & Sons Redditch. Measures 113mm wingspan length.
