A 19th century Indo-Persian Shamshir sword with flat single edged curved blade inlaid with gold. The blade engraved and decorated with three cartouches to each side (partial remnants of inlaid gold) the chased finely engraved hilt has remnants of gilding, in its black lacquered wooden scabbard with gilt mounts also with fine engraving to the mounts. Blade length 74cms (29.125ins)
Condition Report
The hilt has been cleaned and polished. The scabbard is splitting along the seams with lacquer loss
