a 19thc German violin with a spurious label for Gaspard Diuffo, Pruggar 1516, the one piece back inlaid with a marquetry town scene. The scroll with a carved figure and with latin writing to each side, also with a violin bow stamped Bauson. In a fitted case with old luggage label British India, SN Co Ltd, Cabin, from Calcutta to Melbourne. Violin 61cms long, Back 35.5cms long (excluding button).
