An early Third Reich Army officer's dagger, c.1935, the blade bearing pre-1935 oval Eickhorn mark, the hilt having silver plated brass mounts and deep orange grip, the crossguard with more rounded turned down ends and larger eagle than on later examples, in its sheath. GC (slight wear to hilt plating and sheath, which is also slightly dented). It is believed that this pattern was only current 1935-36. Accompanied by a photo-copy showing a similar dagger from the collection of Thomas T. Wittmann.
