Bears pencil inscription under mount ' Peter de Wint R.W.S 1784-1859, could this be the first of the small drawings sold (?) to Mr Griffiths 20th March 1843 ? A village with an old Church Tower and figures along a road ?' along with pencil markings ' C . PH . 10/99' and pen inscription verso ' Peter de Wint R.w.s 1784 -1849 Paperwater marked 1832 (sic - it is marked 1823) Prov: Andrew Wyld R.M.M.
