A 40 bore percussion duelling pistol by Joseph Manton, number 4468 (1807), converted by Manton from flintlock, 15" overall, heavy well rebrowned octagonal twist barrel 10" with small inset blade fore sight, the new breech having single platinum line, platinum vent, and Manton's poincon, with rearsight on the engraved breech tang; signed bolted lock with engraved fern tip border, hammer with foliate engraving; walnut halfstock with rounded chequered butt, horn fore end cap, silver barrel wedge plates and escutcheon with owner's initials, and steel mounts including engraved trigger guard with pineapple finial and small domed butt cap,.
