A works numberplate, No 62068, 1948, from a Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 26672, and allocated new to March on 14 February 1950. It moved in March 1962 to Doncaster from where it was withdrawn on 18 January 1964 and entered the nearby Works the following month for cutting up. Engraved brass, 12"x6½", the front lightly polished. (Postage Band: B)
