A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN DEER BOWL, LATE MING DYNASTY. The bowl with deep rounded sides and bracket lobed rim decorated to the exterior with eight panels of deer. The interior with central deer medallion surrounded by panels of birds and flowers. Probably Wanli period (1573–1620). 22cm diam.
Provenance: Property of a Sussex gentleman
Condition: A faint 7cm vertical hairline at rim. On close examination, the base has been restuck with visible line around the lower section which turns florescent under UV. Good repair.
