More Information

The paint surface shows fine craquelure throughout, but no flaking. Examination under UV shows evidence of minor re-touching across the work, and an area of possible cleaning and/or re-varnishing in the top right corner. The paler areas of the picture (including the horse) show some brown speckling. The picture would benefit from cleaning. The frame appears to be structurally sound, showing very small chips and nibbles to high points and rubbing to the gilt finish.
