ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:
Robert Oscar Lenkiewicz (31 December 1941 – 5 August 2002) was one of South West England's most celebrated artists of modern times.

His work is popular with the public. Lenkiewicz is regarded by some as a great painter who is 'finally being recognised as such. Although still underappriciated. He didn't play the game as far as London commercial galleries were concerned. He did his own thing in the provinces, which was looked down upon. However his work has become increasingly more important and accepted by the Art establishment and regarded as a significant and important painter.

DESCRIPTION:
This portrait is a quality example by Lenkiewicz from the project 18 on women. It shows his deeply sensitive observational skills of human emotion and his gift for the control of colour. The tremendous control of the tonal pallet and textures is beautiful. The use and variety of yellows and browns are stunning.

The model is Lisa Stokes was painted many times by the artist and also a artist in her own right.
