Military Cross group mounted as worn - MC reverse engraved (2nd Lieut A H Craine 2nd Border Regt 14th May 1918), 1914 Star (appears unnamed), BWM (Capt A H Craine) incorrect naming style Indian ?, Victory Medal with MID (21-140 Pte D Craine Durham L.I.) this medal belongs to his brother KIA 21/3/1918, lived Birkenhead, On the Pozieres Memorial. IGS GV with Burma 1930-32 clasp (Capt A H Craine I.A.O.C.), 1935 Jubilee Medal (Maj A H Craine MC I.A.), and 1937 Coronation Medal. Plus two silver named sports medals. Started as a C/Sgt with the 1/Bord Regt, Comm 1/1/1917. Not entitled to a 1914 or 1915 Star. MC L/G 16th Sept 1918 'when in command of a raiding party, he displayed great coolness and resource, and obtained most important identifications. His fearlessness, energy and capable handling of his men under most difficult circumstances set a splendid example'. Abner Henry Craine is also entitled to the OBE L/G 1/1/1946 as a Lieut Col.
