Some scarce and unique photographs in two albums of Royal Navy related photographs – one of the World Cruise of the British Special Service Squadron (BSSS) 1923/4 and another related to the light cruiser HMS Naiad (which was lost in action off Crete in March in 1942) and various World War Two actions including photos of destroyed ships and aircraft, flaming planes falling from the sky, one of dead soldiers, a tank rolling into action in the desert, prisoners of war, sailors relaxing at recreation and some seemingly related to the 1941 invasion of Crete. The BSSS album shows views of its stops including Sierra Leone, Cape Town, Penang, Zanzibar, Melbourne and the Panama Canal. Needs viewing.
