A Derby coffee cup and saucer, painted by Zachariah Boreman, en puce camaïeu with riverside landscapes, each reserve within gilt interlocking ovals, gilt trailing borders of leaves and berries, gilt line rim, the cup 6.5cm high, the saucer 12.6cm diam, decorator's mark numbered 1 in puce for Thomas Soar, puce crown, crossed batons and dots over D, c.1785; a conforming cup, c.1785; a later saucer, similar, 13.1cm diam, red crown, crossed batons and dots over D, c.1810 (4) For a similar cabinet solitaire see: Hoyte, The Charles Norman Collection of 18th Century Derby Porcelain, 1996, page 22.
