A Victorian four piece silver tea and coffee service by Edward & John Barnard, London 1853, engraved S. Keeley (fecit), New Street Birmingham- probably the retailer- octagonal baluster, the tea and coffee pots with angular handles, ivory spacers, figure finials to the domed covers, scroll rims, engraved with foliate swags panels, each on shaped canted flared bases, engraved with a crest and monograms- J.H for Joshua Horton, coffee pot 28cm (11in) high, 2101g (67oz), Ivory Registration Number: 48A26SB6- Coffee pot. J5S69JKT- tea pot. By family repute this set was commission from the Great Exhibition of 1851 by their ancestor Joshua Horton.
