Unknown - An early 20th Century Arts and Crafts copper hall lantern of cylindrical form with internal vaseline glass shade with a graduated straw opalescence, possibly James Powell & Sons, height 64cm.

More Information

The glass is free from cracks or chips, the upper edge is roughly finished and only partially polished flat in production but that is contained within the metal frame and not visible.
The lower section of the frame is planished copper and is in original uncleaned condition and all in good order. The upper flat plate appears to be brass (probably for strength) and is also in original patina, there are a couple of spots where is has been very gently rubbed back to see the brass underneath but again this is on the top side of the lantern and would not be visible when hung. There are then the three arched arms going from the plate to the central rod, all of these show slight buckle and slight bend within the them but no breaks and all intact. The lamp will need rewiring and is sold not ready to hang.
