A South Eastern Railway pocket watch. The movement is a No.3 grade 1883 model, engraved American Waltham Watch Co., with a serial number 3693578 dating to 1889, so an early example of stem wind and stem set. The nickel silver Dennison case has a hinged face and hinged double back, the rear of which is clearly hand engraved SER 2421. In excellent condition and good working order. (Postage Band: B)
