A two-piece cream silk satin ensemble, comprising skirt and bodice, both lined in a pale salmon cotton, the bodice with internal boned bodice and waist belt ( no attribution), is fastened to the side giving a pigeon front, finished with a tailored waist , having front panels attached to the shoulder with chemical lace which matches the lace on the skirt, further trimmed with a band of pearls and machine lace, tucks to the elbow on the sleeves and down the centre back, the full length skirt front fastening, trained at the back, the lower section trimmed with swags of the chemical lace, with the addition of silk ribbons, this feature extending across the front but left plain at the point where the train commences: together with two additional bodices, non-matching, the first back-fastening with covered buttons, short sleeves, unlined but tailored into the waist, the second bodice in cream grosgrain has cording to the seams, ruched net trimming, to the neck and sleeves mid-century fitted sleeves with horse-shoe cuffs, points to the front and back, embroidered covered buttons, an internal grosgrain belt, boning to the front, lined in cream glazed cotton
One bodice sleeve has quite dark foxing or staining near the cuff. Some of the trimming is loose and the lace is perished. One dark stain on the skirt where it fastens, a small smudge at the hip, one small lighter mark near the hem at the back but otherwise quite clean.
The unlined bodice has indications that lace or other trimmings have been removed. The final bodice has some brown marking to the net at the front.
