AN EXCEPTIONAL & RARE GEORGIAN IRISH SILVER TEA CADDY, by William Nowlan, Dublin c.1826. Bulbous form tapering to oval base, the front with central cartouche engraved with family coat of arms reading ‘De crevi’, likely the Nugent family coat of arms. The reverse with blank cartouche. Both are surrounded by scrolls and foliate decoration in relief, with beaded border beneath. The base with further foliate border in relief. The conforming cover with circular acanthus leaf finial. Nice clear hallmarks to base. Dimensions: 14.5cm high including cover approx. Weight: 10ozt approx.
