Kreigsmarine Officers Lion Head Sword with pipe backed blade 810mm in length with etched decoration of sailing ships, foliage and anchor to one side, the other side having foliage, sailing ship and naval trophy with trident to centre. Blade has makers trade mark of "E & F Horster Solingen". Fine white celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding. Gilt folding guard with central anchor, guard with fine relief, leading to the lion head pommel having set with green and red (port and starboard) jewelled eyes. Ferrule in the form of a band of oak leaves. Plain folding rear catch. Overall length 950mm. Complete with leather and brass mounted scabbard with two suspension rings
