Together with the For King and Empire Services Rendered Silver badge and Princess Mary Christmas giftbox. Small article provided with medals reads: “Lance Corporal A. Hodgins – 1st Battalion The Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) – Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hodgin, of 16, Morden-grove Greenwich, his father having been employed for many years by Messrs. E. G. G. Berryman and Sons, of Blackheath-road, Greenwich. Lance-Corporal Hodgin was wounded seriously in the shoulder, neck and lungs at Ypres, but is now making good progress in St. Thomas’ Hospital. He was promoted at the front from private to lance-corporal for doing good work “sniping”’
