A Minton dessert/dinner service, 19th century, comprising fourteen plates and three low comports, each piece with central hand painted polychrome landscape or seascape panel, set within a turquoise border with gilt relief foliate rim, all pieces with impressed maker's mark to base, some plates also with painted 'A6802' to base (17)
All pieces show some fine surface wear and some rubbing to the gilt rims, with more extensive rubbing to the gilt inner rims. One plate with a boat image shows extensive crazing across its surface, and one with a bridge image show extensive crazing around its turquoise border. The comport with the boat image shows surface crazing throughout developing into a hairline crack running from the centre to the rim. Please see photos.
