A PAIR OF BOXED ROYAL WORCESTER EGG CODDLERS WITH CHROME LIDS & INSTRUCTIONS, AN ANTIQUE CONTINENTAL CUP & 4 SAUCERS - AND WEDGWOOD COMMEMORATIVE PLATE This Daresbury Plate, by Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, was commissioned by The Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port to commemorate the raising and restoration of the Weaver flat 'Daresbury', the first meeting of the founders of the Boat Museum at Daresbury in 1970 and in memory of Lewis Carroll's father, the Rev Dodgson, vicar of Daresbury from 1827 until 1843. He established a floating church (pictured) for the barge people at Preston Brook.
