.1957 PEUGEOT 49CC BB MOPED
One of the pioneering firms of the French motorcycle industry, Peugeot followed the familiar progression, first adding proprietary clip-on engines to its bicycles before building complete machines of its own manufacture. A wide range of machines was manufactured between the wars, but after WW2 the firm concentrated mainly on the manufacture of two-stroke lightweights, mopeds and scooters. Peugeot made its first mopeds – the 50cc P50 and P53 – during the 1930s and returned to the category post-WW2 with the PHV25 of 1949, followed by the immensely successful Bima in 1952. Introduced in 1957, Peugeot's BB moped range was produced in various versions up to 1974. This early Peugeot BB moped is offered without documents and sold strictly as viewed.
