belonging to Herbert Cartwright Reid, C.B., comprising his cased drawing instruments; a white metal-mounted presentation gavel inscribed 'MALTA 18TH MAY 1905' and a white metal presentation trowel from the same event inscribed to his wife, for laying the first stone in Dock No.7, H.M. Dockyard, with Maltese cross detail; together with a folder of extensive correspondence, official papers and newspaper articles relating to his various positions, including his appointment as Civil Engineer-in-Chief of the Vizagapatam harbour, working for Bengal-Nagpur Railway Company Ltd, etc. (4) Gavel approx. 24.5cm long, trowel 33cm long
