AN 1821/1822 PATTERN CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY HILL BROTHERS.
With an 89cm slightly curved, pointed and fullered blade, finely etched with a Victorian Crown and initials amongst elaborate scrolling decoration, the blade marked for Hill Brothers, 3 Old Bond Street, London, the other side with inset brass 'Proved' mark. The three bar guard with an oval stepped pommel, fish skin grip with wire binding. In a steel scabbard with twin ring suspension, 106cm overall. Hill Brothers traded at this address between 1856-1889.
