A LIGHT INFANTRY 90TH REGIMENT PATTERN SWORD.
With a 68cm curved pipe back blade with traces of original engraved foliate decoration and possible battle honour. With stirrup holt with broad fish skin handle with three rivets with decorative heads, the langets with slung bugles, the leather scabbard with three decorative mounts and twin ring suspension marked for 'Baker & Son 24 Bedford Street Covent Garden' all within a laurel wreath and beneath a crown. 86cm overall.
This pattern of sword was made specifically for ther 90th Regiment during the early years of the 19th century.
