A late 19c French portico clock, the ebonised wood case inlaid with brass and mother of pearl, and having four barley twist columns supporting the movement and entablature and standing on a stepped and ribbed base. The columns have Corinthian gilt capitals and the 10cm white enamel dial has Roman numerals, moon hands and a ribbed gilt bezel. The lyre shaped gilt pendulum has a similarly ribbed bob with a central gilt star. The movement is countwheel striking on a bell. The clock stands 52cm tall overall.
The case is in quite good condition with no noticeable impact damage and no loss of inlays or mouldings. the dial has slight chipping near figure 5. the movement seems complete but is dusty and would benefit from cleaning.
