An early 19th century brass octagonal sundial, the gnomon centred on a finely engraved compass rose within a chapter ring with Roman numerals, signed 'Spencer & Son - Dublin', 10" (25cm) wide 6½" (17cm) high. Spencer & Son traded from 19 Grafton Street, Dublin from 1863 to 1900.
