Josiah Kember, Shaw, an oak longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on bell with the twelve-inch square brass dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals and makers name Jos. Kember, Shaw, the matted centre with engraved decoration subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, with cast-brass urn spandrels to the four corners, the flat-top oak case with three-quarter turned pillars to the hood, height 198cm. Josiah, or Joseph, Kember is recorded as working at Shaw, Berkshire from before 1743 until circa 1777.
