A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY TRIO TO THE GUARDS. A Great War Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 15957 Pte G.W. Hallam C,GDS. War Medal and Victory medal similarly named. George William Hallam was the son of Thomas George and Agnes Ann Hallam of 2 New Street, Siddals Road, Derbyserved with the 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, he died of wounds on the 28th November 1917 and is buried North-east of Cambrai at Hordain Communal Cemetery, his headstone reads 'Father in thy gracious keeping leave we now our loved one Sleeping', he was 24 years old. His is one of only two First World War graves at this communal cemetery, the other to a South Wales Borderer who died on the 26th November. *CR Mounted Court style, ribbons slightly worn.
