A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY GROUP OF FOUR TO THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS, REGIMENTAL NUMBER 96. A Great War Trio comprising 1914-15 Star named to 96 Pte J. Timperley R.A.M.C., War Medal and Victory Medal similarly named, and a Territorial Force Efficiency Medal to Timperley with number 354044. John Timperley, born in 1893, of 14 Wood Street, Salford, Lancashire enlisted on the 4th July 19014 and served from the 4th August 1914 with the 1/3 East Lancs Field Ambulance. His Index card confirms the award of the 1915 Star and that he joined the conflict in Egypt on the 27th September 1914. Injured with a gun shot wound to his right thigh at the end of 1915 whilst serving in Alexandria, he was, following treatment and time in a convalescence home, able to walk with a stick. His Efficiency Medal was awarded in May 1919. With copied Medal Index Card and extensive research.
