The 1965 Ford was a whole new design change for the Galaxie. This new car consisted of six series of Galaxies, with 17 models. This new wider design was a big change from the 1964 models. A notable difference was the new dual vertical stacked headlight design, a first for the Galaxie. Although different, these cars attracted a following of their own. These were designed for total performance with a large array of performance choices. Ford offered the Galaxie 500LTD, Galaxie 500XL, in convertible and hardtop, Galaxie 500 and Ford Custom which was the base model for the 1965 full size car line. Ford offered five engine choices from the 240 cubic inch six cylinder all the way up to the very rare fire breathing 427 Thunderbird High Performance optional V-8 your choice of either four or eight venturi carburetion rated at 425 horsepower. For transmission options, Ford used the Synchro Smooth Drive manual transmission, four speed floor shift offered on 390 and 427 engines, and Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission. Some of the available options for 1965 were as follows: Power Brakes, Power Front Seats, Automatic Speed Control, Remote Mirrors, Swing Away Steering Wheel, Power Windows, Air Conditioning, Padded Dash and Visors, Wire Wheel Covers, Vinyl Roof Covering, and Remote Trunk Release. The 1965 Galaxie introduced a new age of full size Ford with fresh new looks and performance and luxury to match

This matching numbers 1965 Ford Galaxie 2 Door Fast-Back Coupe is described by the vendor as being restored 5 years ago in America, where it received the striking Black and Silver paint job. It then spent the next 3 years in a private collection near Kansas City, Missouri, then 2 years ago it was imported into the UK and joined another car collector where it was kept in a heated building and started regularly to keep the mechanical side of the car moving and lubricated. The car benefits from having new brakes all round, this includes shoes, wheel cylinders, and flexi hoses. It sits on top spec american racing wheels with nearly new Cooper Cobra tyres. The interior has been re trimmed in black and silver/grey vinyl, which complements the exterior and ties the car in together, and is in great condition.

The car is running a 390 Cui V8 engine which has reportedly been rebuilt, but no proof in the documentation can support this. However, the engine runs extremely smoothly with plenty of power, so it is believed to have genuinely been rebuilt. The auto transmission pulls strongly and has a 3500 stall torque converter added to improve take up from a standing start. The engine bay supports the black and silver theme of this car and has a smart appearance when the bonnet is open.

This car has had all duties paid and comes with all import documentation from the USA, this includes the NOVA and original title ready for the new owner to register. Included is the original owners hand book for the car with matching VIN.
