A late 17th century brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss, by Bleiberg, re-stocked probably in the early 19th century, 34” overall, heavy 3 stage barrel 18”, the breech bearing London proofs and maker’s mark “W”, and engraved with strawberry leaves and “Bleiberg”, the barrel with Irish registration number “L-K 1315”; signed rounded banana shaped lock, the cock replaced probably at the time of re-stocking; walnut fullstock with brass mounts typical of the period, the trigger guard bow engraved with knight’s head, the long butt plate tang with border and scrolls, and with baluster ramrod pipes.
