An interesting pair of 19th century naval tompions, the oak plug 5¼" diameter, the mahogany covers 9" diameter, mounted with cast pewter crests embossed with Nelson's motto in a garter surmounted by a naval crown, within the garter the augmentation added to Nelson's arms after the battle of the Nile, surmounted by a ducal coronet, the whole surrounded by crossed cannon, naval ensign, anchor and palm fronds, over the battle honours Nile, Copenhagen and Trafalgar. GC Two ships name HMS Nelson during the 19th century: 1st rate ship of 1814 and a cruiser of 1876. £600-650
