Railway. L.M.S. post grouping. A rare collection of approx. 70 x 2" square format, black and white negatives, housed in a paper book. The negatives all date from 1947 and were taken by published photographer R.J. Maxwell. There are some gaps in the collection, sadly we do not have these to sell. The majority of the locos are ex L.M.S., however, there are a couple of G.W.R. and Southern interlopers. There are some captions and notes alongside most of the negatives, including loco number, date, time and location. Most of the locations are in the North West: Patricroft, Edge Hill, Standish, Hest Bank etc. Six of the negatives were taken in Liverpool Docks with shipping subjects including "Mauretania" and "Queen of Bermuda". Also, there are 5 shots of an industrial steam loco at work. Copyright will pass to the buyer. Sample illustrated.
