A MID 19TH CENTURY PILL POTTERY WELSH REDWARE GLAZED EARTHENWARE FIGURE modelled as a seated cobbler, set to a square base with canted corners - in the manner of H. Davies of the Pill Pottery, Newport. NOTE: Although it was previously assumed that the Pill Pottery was located at Pill, near Bristol it is now known to have been in the Pillgwenlly district of Newport, Monmouthshire. (23cm high)
