A large and rare mid 19th century Chinese porcelain sleeve vase; enamelled and gilt and painted in under glaze blue with precious objects above a band of Buddhist symbols, the base decorated with four iron red bats in flight interspersed with peony against a green key fret, the neck with stylised bamboo leaves below ruyi (damage and reparations) (56.75cm high, the lip 26.25cm diameter)
