A Smiths gentleman's stainless steel Everest wristwatch c.1964, manual 19 jewel lever movement, off-white dial, chrome Arabic numerals and faceted dagger batons, approximately 35mm diameter, presentation engraving to case back. NB The 1953 Everest Expedition was sponsored by Smiths alongside Rolex, they supplied wristwatches to Hilary and Sherpa Tensing Norgay as well as other members of the expedition.
Movement - is currently functioning, not inspected, winds and set hands function OK.
Dial - appears original and in good condition.
Hands - appear original and in good condition.
Dome - plastic, some scratching, good to fair condition.
Case - appears steel, small scratches and chips, no apparent pitting, good condition.
Crown - possible original, good condition, fit for purpose.
Strap - replacement black leather.
Buckle - replacement steel.
