18/19th Century Japanese Naginata Spear
15 1/2 inch, single edged, slightly curved blade with rear chamfered edge. Good polish to blade with two minor nicks. 12 3/4 inch, unsigned tang with two peg holes. Gilt brass habaki. Copper securing mount. Polished oval form. The top 16 inches with black lacquered cord binding with two darkened brass bands. Lower butt cap absent.
