A Rare Georgian Diamond and Enamel 'Bird of Paradise' Brooch,

Circa 1750, set all-over with rose cut diamonds and polychrome enamel feathers with closed back settings, unmarked mount tests as silver and gold, 69.3mm, 16g

More Information

All diamonds are present and relatively bright and lively. The principal full Dutch rose cut diamond measures approx 7.75 x 6.45 x ~1.9mm. Some of the enamel is chipped and missing, particularly on the blue feathers. The top feather tip on right-hand side is bent down behind the other feathers. The mount has general wear and abrasions alongside some solder repairs visible on the back, namely a new brooch fitting. Overall the brooch is in good condition considering the age.
