62nd (Wiltshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officer shoulder belt plate circa 1830-55
Good rare gilt rectangular plate with canted corners mounted with silver crowned hobnail patterned cross pattee and bearing gilt laurel wreath with silver 62 to lined centre. The border of the upper arm bears PENINSULA. Two hooks and two studs. VGC. Complete with leather liner bearing two owners names, one dated 1846. Lieut. R.G. Mounsell 62 and Lieut. C.R. Richardson
